The McCurtain County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) protects county residents by minimizing the impacts of natural disasters, technological hazards, and localized attacks. The agency achieves this through rigorous preparedness planning, inter-agency training exercises, and proactive disaster mitigation.

In addition to coordinating localized disaster response and long-term recovery operations, the EMA collaborates closely with municipal leaders and emergency services across all cities within the county.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Active Monitoring: Managing county-wide storm spotting, tornado alerting, and flood watches.
  • Public Safety: Coordinating emergency road closures and acting as the primary responder for hazardous material (HAZMAT) spills.
  • Mass Notification: Providing real-time, free critical safety alerts—including severe weather warnings and evacuation notices—directly to residents via the Hyper-Reach Emergency Notification System. Sign up here: http://hyper-reach.com/okmccurtainsignup.html Or Text "Alert" to 580-208-1795
